The 3 Essentials of Puppy Parenting

Our puppy training curriculum is based on the 3 essentials of puppy parenting- prevention, training, and socialization. By preventing your puppy from practicing unwanted behaviors, he/she won't get the chance to build those behaviors into bad habits. By training your puppy the ten essential behaviors listed below, you will be able to show your puppy what you do want him/her to do instead of the unwanted behaviors. Lastly, by socializing your puppy to different places, people, and things, you can prevent your puppy from having fear/reactivity issues when he/she grows up, and feel confident that your puppy will be able to happily go to a variety of places with you. We cover each of these topics thoroughly in our Puppy Packages.

The American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior's Position on Puppy Socialization

For owners who are worried about socializing puppies to different environments before they are fully vaccinated, please read the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior's Position on Puppy Socialization to understand the risks and recommended precautions. During Puppy Package field trips, we take great care to socialize your puppy in safe environments

"Just as puppies are vaccinated against infectious diseases... they also need to be "vaccinated" against behavior problems. Lack of exposure during the socialization period can be just as detrimental as a bad experience."
